S2, E146 - 2025 Cummins/Ram Inside Info From Mr. X

Mr. X calls into the show to let the guys in on some of the yet-to-be-released details of the 6.7L Cummins engine in the 2025 Ram heavy-duty trucks. The Truck Show Podcast is proudly presented by Nissan in association with Banks Power, AMSOIL, and EGR USA.

Here are the details on the forthcoming Cummins 6.7L engine as found in RAM's forthcoming 2025 RAM HD pickups. Note, this info has been provided by an "insider" and has not been confirmed by RAM.

  • Straight Six, 6.7L
  • ZF Powerline 8-speed trans
  • 430HP / 1075TQ
  • All new head
  • Glow plugs. No grid heater
  • Fuel injectors are now external to the valve cover, as are the crossover pipes (tubes)
  • Intake manifold is all new. Inspired by Banks Side-Draft intake manifold for the 5.9L?
  • New 10 blade Holset VGT turbo
  • Top loaded cartridge style oil filter
  • Both fuel filters are now top load cartridge style under the hood
  • New high-pressure fuel pump, derivative of the CP4
  • Scrubbed the CGi block and went back to grey iron (unconfirmed by source)
  • Still a hydraulic lifter engine
  • Same valvetrain as 2019-2024 but the components may be slightly different length to account for the head-up change
